Flying to North Queensland as a part of our exploration of the Great Barrier Reef in a propeller plane. There are only a few passengers on board and it almost feels like a private jet, champagne not included. The trip to Whitsunday Islands, a gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, begins after a few days in Sydney with detailed information about the flight in the waiting area. Is this a news channel?! The bites of the travel bug
The roots of my love of travel are hidden between the pages of a book. In the early ’90s my mother brought home ”The wonders of the world”, one of the best gifts I’ve ever received as a kid and beyond. I still remember the book cover – a close-up of the Statue of Liberty’s head and its hand, holding the torch. Inside, natural and man-made wonders were revealed continent by continent.
